T27875 120" x 3/4" x .032" x 6 TPI Hook Bandsaw Blade
An economical 120" carbon steel hook blade for ripping boards to size.
Hooked blades are most common for long cuts in thicker workpieces. The hooked tooth geometry is aggressive with the hook angled down towards the surface of the workpiece. This helps increase the feed rate through the material, but leaves tearout on the bottom of the workpiece.
Width is an important factor when considering a new blade. The typical range is as small as 1/8" wide to 3/4" wide. This 3/4" wide blade is good for contour sawing with a minimum radius of 5-1/2". For resaw cutting, you will want to fit the widest blade available for your machine.
Typically, there are more teeth per inch for narrower blades compared to wider blades. We sell these blades from 3 TPI to 14 TPI versions. This means the 6 TPI cut more slowly than a 3 TPI and faster than a 14 TPI blade.
The flex back blade helps with absorbing the stresses of cutting curves. It is heat-treated at the teeth, leaving the back with more flexibility for movement through the material.
The 120" length blade fits bandsaws including the Dake 14" Work-A-Matic and two Jet 14" bandsaws. Choosing the correct blade can seem like a helpless task. Using the incorrect blade can dramatically affect your bandsaw’s operation. With this explanation, the factors you would select the T27875 120" x 3/4" x .032" x 6 TPI Hook Bandsaw Blade should make total sense for your needs.
